ONE of Newcastle's best known firms, Centre Staffing, has been acquired by national recruitment agency IPA Personnel.

Centre Staffing was established 10 years ago by Kay Eilich and Lynelle Crossingham.

The two directors have more than 40 years' experience in the industry.

IPA Personnel general manager (NSW) Mary O'Keeffe said yesterday the merger of the two companies was a natural blend of business principles and professionalism.

Ms O'Keeffe said IPA had a very strong presence in the national public and corporate sectors, and Centre Staff had an equally strong presence in state and local government, and private sectors.

"Both provide unequalled delivery of recruitment services in permanent and temporary areas, pre-employment assessments and outplacements," she said.

The expansion comes just under 12 months after IPA's Newcastle team moved into larger offices in Beaumont Street, Hamilton.

Ms O'Keeffe said the Hunter Region had a complex mix of sectors.

She said the changing emphasis on employment required responsive recruitment and personnel services.
