Not every recruitment agency will suit your needs, so be sure to find a recruitment agency specialising in your industry. There are many advantages to using a specialised recruitment agency. For one, more opportunities are likely to come your way. Secondly, a recruitment agency that places a lot of individuals in your field will have a better idea of what kind of experience is best for specific types of jobs.

While a recruitment agency that is less specialised will certainly do its best to learn about an industry it is hiring for, it is more likely to misinterpret the needs of a particular position than a recruitment agency with experience.

If you cannot find a recruitment agency for your industry within your area, then you may want to consider moving, as it could be a sign that there just aren't many jobs in your area. A move is a big decision to make, but sometimes a big change is required in order to advance your career.
